Why Byron the Bee?
Byron the Bee is more than a name — he’s a thread that weaves together everything I care about: art, emotion, nature, memory, and motherhood.

The name carries the same letters as my daughter’s name, Robin — a quiet tribute to her presence in my creative life. It’s also a nod to the poet Lord Byron, whose intensity and beauty resonate with the way I tell stories through illustration.

But most of all, Byron is a bee — one of my favorite creatures. As the daughter of a beekeeper, I’ve come to see bees as the most intelligent and emotionally attuned insects on Earth. They live in community, create with precision and instinct, and carry sweetness from one flower to another. That’s exactly what I hope my work does too.

Byron the Bee is our shop’s soft mascot, quiet narrator, and loyal reminder to keep exploring — gently, curiously, and with care.
