The Full Story

Meet the artists

Two hearts, two styles, one gentle world.

Byron the Bee is our shared creative home — a place where softness, curiosity, and slow art meet.
Inside this little hive, you’ll find the work of two artists who approach creativity differently, but with the same care, sensitivity, and love for tender humans.

We’re partners in life and in art, and everything you see here is shaped by that shared world.

MA, BSc, PhD

I move through life guided by creativity.
It’s how I regulate, how I listen to myself, how I remember who I am.

Illustration is one of my main languages, but not the only one.
I write songs under the name A Northern Bird.I take photographs, print by hand, carve linocuts, cook slowly, and build things from wood — longboards, bird nests, small shelters meant to last.

Creativity, for me, isn’t a discipline. It’s a way of living. A way of staying alive.

Alongside my artistic practice, I work as a social worker and come from a background in psychology. These worlds are not separate. They constantly inform each other.

I’m deeply interested in how people feel, how they survive, how they heal and how creativity can become a safe place when the world feels too loud or too sharp.

Byron the Bee grew from this intersection. It’s a space I’m creating with my partner for people like us: highly sensitive, queer, neurodivergent, and often a little out of step with the world. Creativity has carried me through my darkest moments, not as a solution, but as a companion. With Byron the Bee, I want to offer that same gentle companionship to others.

Not pressure.
Not performance.
Just a place where making things can help you breathe again.

Evelyn

Artist, art therapist

I’m a visual artist with a deep love for color, texture, composition, and the way small details can tell whole stories. As a sensitive, introverted, and introspective soul, I’m drawn to quiet moments of observation and reflection, which infuse my work with subtlety and intention. My background is in painting, printmaking, and design — but what I love most is creating things that hold meaning and invite contemplation.

I bring visual clarity and a thoughtful design sense into our shared studio, often translating raw sketches into finished pieces with care and purpose.

When I’m not making art, you’ll find me walking with my dogs, taking photos, tending lovingly to my plants, or reading — slow, meditative pursuits that nurture both my creativity and my spirit.
